Celebrating Singapore Together 2026 – A Proud Achievement!
We are delighted to celebrate the achievement of Gauri Nair from 5E, who was selected as one of the winners of the 2026 Celebrating Singapore Together Book Cover Redesign Competition, organised by Civica as part of its library programmes in celebration of National Day.
The competition invited students to showcase their creativity by giving a fresh look to a book cover. This year, an impressive 608 entries from 67 primary schools were submitted.
For her entry, Gauri chose to redesign the cover of My BFF is an Alien, a book that holds special meaning for her as it was the first book she read. As the story centers on friendship, Gauri noticed that the original cover did not feature the two friends together. This inspired her to create a new cover that brings their friendship to the forefront and better reflects this important theme of the story.
We are proud that Gauri’s thoughtful and creative redesign stood out among the many entries, earning her a place among the winners. She will receive a Kinokuniya voucher and a winner’s certificate in recognition of her achievement.
Congratulations, Gauri! 🌟 Your creativity, thoughtful interpretation and love for reading have made our school proud!
We would also like to commend all our students who participated and put their creativity and effort into their entries. Well done, Unitians!
